Children 8-17

Ages 8-13

Children aged 8-13 will only be allowed on field accompanied and directly supervised by a guardian also playing in the same session. One child per accompanying guardian. Waivers for children aged 8-13 are to be signed by the supervising guardian. 

Ages 14-17

Children aged 14-17 may play on their own, but a guardian must remain on site for the duration of the session. Waivers for children aged 14-17 are to be signed in the presence of a guardian with their consent. 

If any children are left unattended the police will be notified.

Safety Equipment

Eye Protection

Full coverage wraparound eye protection or suitable full face mask must be worn at all times on the field, These must be AS/NZ 1337 or equivalent. Should our field referees advise that your eye or face protection is unsuitable, a full face mask or glasses will be available for hire or purchase.
Should our referees find you have removed your eye protection whilst on field, you will receive exactly one(1) warning. If you are found to have removed your eye protection a second time, you will be asked to leave the premises for the day and no refund will be issued.
There will be no exceptions to these rules. YOUR EYES ARE IMPORTANT!

Enclosed footwear must be worn at all times.

*Long sleeves and neck coverings are not essential, but recommended as our field is designed with most engagements being inside of 3-12 metres.

Non-contact sport

Gel Ball is a non-contact sport. Accidents happen but do not intentionally do anything could cause injury to either yourself or others. This includes climbing on or moving the obstacles.

Smoking

As we share our premises with a wood working shop we are not permitted to allow any type of smoking on site. There is an area to smoke outside the gate.

Epilepsy Warning

Please be aware that our field may have flashing lights during some games, and some players may have torches or lasers attached to their blasters. If you suffer from Epilepsy or are particularly sensitive to lights, you need to advise our staff immediately upon your arrival. 

Parking

Parking on site is limited, so we suggest car pooling if you're attending with friends and family.
Please prioritise parking to the left of the car park, working from the back up. If you are attending with others in another car, please consider double parking them in.

Rules

  1. All blasters must be kept covered or enclosed in a bag/case/box until inside the building. Anyone carrying an exposed blaster into the building will be asked to leave the premises. 

  2. Fingers off the trigger and magazines out until you are on the field. No blasters are to be fired outside of the designated play or testing areas. Treat all blasters as if they are loaded and keep them pointed in a safe direction outside the field.

  3. No Smoking or Vaping Onsite. Urban Gelball shares a property with a woodworking business, so there is strictly no smoking/vaping inside the gates. You are welcome to smoke outside the gate to the left or right.

  5. All electric blasters are limited to 340 foot per second during all Public Sessions however any blaster over 300 foot per second must run single shot only. All HPA blasters are limited to 300 foot per second and must run single shot only.

    Uber Sessions All blasters are limited to 380 foot per second and must run single shot only.

    Upon entry, you consent to our referees checking this as and when they deem necessary. (FPS for private events will be at the discretion of the event organiser). Urban Gelball reserves the right to refuse the use of a blaster if they are unable to ensure it is safe and fit for purpose.

  6. There is a "Bang-Bang" rule in place. Any time you find yourself facing someone’s back from inside 1 metre, tap them on the shoulder, declare "BANG-BANG" loudly, and give them the opportunity to declare hit instead of tagging them point blank. If you are unable to reach the opposing player due to a doorway, we request you aim at their legs.

  7. Gelballs only! If we find anyone in possession of any projectiles that are not gelballs, Urban Gelball will immediately contact the police.

    Public Sessions Any gelballs up to Ausgel Armour Techs and Ausgel White Pearls or equivalent are allowed. Ultra hardened gels are not allowed in public sessions. These gel include but are not limited to: AKAs, Ausgel Armour Tech Ultras, Gladiator Ammunition by Atomic Armoury.

    Uber Sessions There are no gelball restrictions in Uber Sessions.

  8. Blasters to be held in the air when you are hit. Any player on the field that does not have their blaster clearly up in the air, is considered in-play, and may be tagged as such. P.S. Dead men tell no tales.

  9. No alcohol shall be consumed onsite. Urban Gelball reserves the right to refuse entry or remove anyone that is intoxicated.

  10. Look after the field and surrounding premises. We understand accidents happen, but anyone found deliberately damaging or otherwise vandalizing the field will be immediately asked to leave the premises with no refund given.

  • On occasion, certain private sessions may allow the use of extra hardened gels and personal blasters with FPS in excess of the normal field limits. This will be noted at the time of booking, as well as at the beginning of the session if it applies.
